Meet, Wendy Sommers, Founder and Art Instructor at Artytime for over a decade. I was born an artist. Aren’t we all? Some of us stop calling ourselves artists as we “grow up”. I never did.
I started at a very young age drawing, painting, taking pictures and making endless creations which led me to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Maine College of Art in Portland Maine. Long before founding Artytime, I was a Graphic Design Director in New York City where I created some very important “works of art” for fortune 500 companies.
We found our 270 year old homestead at the base of beautiful Harriman State Park. Gathering inspiration by way of taking in as much live music as possible, hiking, biking, kayaking, yoga and filling my heart with friends and family whenever possible.
I am lucky enough to call Artytime my passion and my career. The true definition of "love what you do and do what you love".

MY PHILOSOPHY ON TEACHING ART
Everyone, and I mean everyone...has creativity within them. It is my mission to help bring it to life. When given the opportunity, basic supplies and encouragement, you will discover that being creative brings about happiness!
THINGS THAT FILL MY SOUL AND INSPIRE ME
THINGS THAT I MAKE WITH MY HUBBY IN OUR WOODSHOP
THINGS I CREATE FOR OTHERS
“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” Maya Angelou
